Crown Hotel Wetheral - Carlisle (Cumbria)

This place is perfect for me! I love the indoor pool, cozy bar area, and friendly 24-hour reception. The staff even returned my forgotten hairbrush on my first stay. I recommend trying the breakfast too!

Thoroughly enjoyed its incredibly kind and extremely accommodating staff.

The room was recently refurbished and contemporary with a bath and a shower in the private bathroom. The breakfast was amazing and delicious, especially coffee, tea, fruit juice, toast and cereal, the best I've ever had. Location: the hotel was next to the conservatory, the center of the village, and pub depending on whose serve.

our room was impeccably clean and huge and provided with good comfy bed, an excellent level of comfort plus the bar. its stunning, secluded location was a plus.

Our standard double room was en suite and neat.

Attention of staff , could not do enough for you from house keeper to Pagie the waitress to the reception guy (stewart) and the food was lovely , bar staff attention to detail , even to the half pint with my main meal

The location was particularly good because it was really close to the nature, nice garden, spacious room, price, and motorway junction. The beds were exceptionally comfortable and the whole room was contemporary and newly renovated.

Really good atmosphere. The leisure facilities are excellent. The food was good and the location good.

I expected a true twin room rather than the double bed and a mad up bed. I was with my sister who is in a wheelchair and I have comments to make about the experience with someone with a disbility which I will send in separately.

Very good restaurant and live music on the evening

The hotel has character and is in a scenic location and quiet road but not far from the motorway; we found it a good place for a break on our journey to Scotland. There are local river walks, scenic views with a railway viaduct and small station on the Carlisle to Newcastle line nearby.The swimming pool and leisure facilities are very good - as long as it doesn't get too crowded - and well provided with towels and lockers.The room was pleasant, if a little dated. The hotel interior was attractive with paintings inside and hanging flower baskets outside and parking is adequate. We enjoyed our breakfast.

The hotel caters for weddings and the bar was very noisy until late because of a party on the night we stayed, unfortunately we happened to be in a room above it.

The location to Carlisle was very convenient as we were en route to Scotland. Closeness to a railway station means we may visit again and travel on public transport. Setting and food great.

Enjoyable Stay with Small Ups and Downs

The suite was spacious, and the staff provided warm hospitality. Breakfast served delicious options, but the noise from nearby transportation made it hard to relax. I recommend earplugs for light sleepers!
